MENTOR’s latest product “Area Lighting for Logos, Symbols and Text” offers new and cost-effective solutions for backlighting of wide areas. It can also be utilised for status indication and multiple branding of the same product. The new modules are available as a standard, stocked product with short delivery times and low minimum order quantities or as a customised solution with a wide range of options.

MENTOR's new RGB LED Area Lighting modules feature a flat panel design. The LED backlighting benefits from MENTOR's product lighting expertise, providing very even, truly homogeneous illumination over an area of 50x16mm. The module features an ESD-protected PCB with (impressively!) just a single RGB LED, offering an infinite range of backlight colours.

Mounting/Printing Options and Samples

There are four printing options and six mounting options – see below. For illustration and test purposes, a sample version with a logo already printed on the diffusor is available from stock. Printing can be carried out by MENTOR (MOQ 1,000 pcs) or by the customer.

In addition, samples with customer-specific printing can be provided at a cost of just a few hundred pounds, which will be credited against the first production-volume order.

Custom Modifications of Area Lighting Solutions

Possible modifications to the standard product include a larger lighting area of up to 55x55mm (MOQ 3,000 pcs, minor investment cost applies). Even larger sizes are possible, subject to modest development and tooling investment. Different wire gauges and connector options, as well as a PCB-mounted version are also possible.
