This range of MENTOR Switch Caps is for use under a membrane overlay only. Other ranges suitable for use with painted/coated enclosures are available.
These low-profile illuminated caps are similar to MENTOR’s tactile switch based illuminated switch caps, but are low profile and designed for use with dome switches in membrane keypads. The two-component cap housing consists of an opaque body and top diffusor. Despite the low height, the light guide design of the cap ensures full homogeneous illumination using four SMD LEDs.
These low-profile switch caps are designed to be used with two types of switch: Micon 5 pushbutton switches; and Inovan Snap Dome switches.
Customer-specific cap heights can be realised with little or no tool cost. Other possibilities include body-coloured switch caps and signal indicators to suggest potential colour, even when their illumination is off. Different printing processes provide many graphics / text options.
