This range of illuminated switch caps with incorporated text inserts is for use with painted/coated enclosures only. Many other MENTOR ranges of switch caps and signal indicators are available for use with electronic panels which use membrane overlays.
The text insert switch caps and signal indicators use the same concept as MENTOR’s other Illuminated caps, but this range is designed only for use with front panels that do not have film lamination / membrane overlays. Just like the other ranges, fully-homogeneous illumination is provided using just two LEDs.
These push button caps have a shoulder so that the top of the cap protrudes from the enclosure of the finished electronic panel assembly. This design securely retains the caps, even in harsh environmental conditions.
The caps are designed to allow the insertion of a text foil - the housing body and the diffuser cover are preassembled, with the text insert foil supplied separately. The foil is inserted between the diffuser cover and the panel, securely protecting against abrasion and wear.
