It was a bit of a strange Southern Manufacturing and Electronics Exhibition this year!  Multitron were there supporting our sub-distributors Diamond and Foremost but on the first day it was a very frightening experience.  The exhibition is held in a truly massive marquee construction (seems to be the size of Earls Court 2) and I wish it had been held there instead!

A massive gale was blowing, which caused the roof to raise and lower by meters every second with accompanying ominous and really loud metallic creaking and groaning sounds as the light and air duct fixings bounced off the roof trusses.

Meaningful conversation was almost impossible as we all cringed when the next gust blew, thinking it could be our last moment!  Eventually the show was evacuated around lunchtime.  A big disappointment but to an extent a great relief also!

Perhaps it was the weather but I was struck by how few of our regular customers attended. MENTOR/Multitron had been considering taking an independent stand next year but are now not so sure.  It would be interesting to hear comments from industry colleagues who did attend and those who chose not to!
